EPISODE 1 - The Ring Cycle

To celebrate the inauguration of the newly refurbished Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2007, the Mariinsky Theatre, under the baton of its Artistic Director, Valery Gergiev, revived their marvellous production of Wagner's complete Ring Cycle.

EPISODE 2 - Mariinsky Ballet

In a round trip involving almost 200 people and totalling more than 6,000 miles, VWM brought the Mariinsky Theatre and its unique ballet to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the first time.

Taking place at the newly refurbished Teatro Pérez Galdós, the series explored two Mariinsky Theatre classics: Adam's Giselle (with Marius Petipa's definitive choreography) and Leonid Lavrovsky's renowned staging of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (commissioned and premiered by the Kirov Ballet in 1940)

Soloists for the productions included Irma Nioradze, Viktoria Tereshkina, Mikhail Lobukhin and Andrian Fadeev.
